Micron’s serial NOR flash memory series come in industry-standard packaging, pinouts and command sets, plus chipset compatibility to facilitate design-in. They feature a low-pin count, are easy to use, and provide a simple solution for applications that code shadow. Simply provide a starting address in the memory to read and then continuously clock data out from the device throughout the entire memory array. The twin-quad serial NOR flash memory IC combines two quad I/O devices into a single package to create an 8-bit, bi-directional I/O structure. Coupled with an operating frequency of 166MHz, it doubles the last-generation serial NOR maximum bandwidth rate from 83Mbps to 166Mbps.
