Toshiba has launched a pair of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) controllers designed for ultra-low power portable products. The TC35670 and TC35675 controllers are each embedded with a near field communication (NFC) tag class 3. The NFC tag awakens the BLE devices from sleep mode and initiates Bluetooth pairing. This set-up consumes less power and is easy to use.
The NFC tag with BLE allows the circuit to remain off until awakened by an active NFC controller from another device. Data exchange with the NFC tag EEPROM occurs without waking up the Bluetooth circuit. The device’s BLE stack and GATT profiles facilitate easy Bluetooth product qualification.
