Texas Instruments has launched the TAS5634 – a pulse width modulation (PWM) input amplifier power stage that supports 2 x 300W (6Ω) or 1 x 600W (3Ω) output power with a nominal power supply voltage of 58V. The 58V supply voltage provides support for higher impedance speaker loads including 6Ω in bridge-tied load (BTL) and 3Ω in parallel bridge-tied load (PBTL). Integrated MOSFETs and a new gate drive scheme provide high peak efficiency and low idle losses to reduce thermal solution size.
The device uses a closed loop feedback design with constant voltage gain. The internally matched gain resistors ensure a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) and low output noise due to switch mode power supplies (SMPS).
