ams has launched a digital temperature sensor with high measurement accuracy (±0.2°C) and low power consumption (6µA operation and 0.1µA standby). The AS6200C sensor communicates via a two-wire digital bus with other devices. This IC consists of a silicon bandgap temperature sensor, an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and a digital signal processor (DSP).
The sensor features alert functionality, which triggers interrupt to protect devices from excessive temperatures. Applications include cold chain monitoring data loggers, cold chain storage systems plus refrigerators and cooling systems.
