Texas Instruments has launched a module for evaluating the functionality and performance of the HDC2080 humidity and temperature sensor. The HDC2080EVM utilizes a USB interface with an MSP430F5528 microcontroller unit (MCU) to establish communication between the sensor and the PC. The included software, OneUI, enables user interaction and also graphically logs temperature plus humidity from streaming data. The GUI also allows access to the sensor’s configuration registers.
The PCB includes a perforated edge that allows the sensor section of the PCB to separate from the main board. This enables fast prototyping of the sensor in other host applications or allows remote sensing by extending communication wires.
