Microchip has introduced a system-on-module (SOM) that is based on the 32-bit ARM Cortex-A5. The SAMA5D27 features a wide range of peripherals, a user interface and expansion options. It includes two mikroBUS click interface headers to support MikroElektronika click boards and one PMOD interface. The SOM also comes with a free Linux distribution and bare metal C examples.
Typical applications include patient monitoring, Internet of Things (IoT) secure gateways, human machine interface, building automation and industrial gateways.
